In 1860, Guido Panerai, the founder of Panerai company, had shown its talent in watch-making, at that time, Panerai exclusively supplied the Italian Navy precision instruments and compass, in the early 20th century, Guido Panerai opened a watch shop in Florence, this shop later became the official authorized dealer of Rolex and Patek Philippe.

In 1936, Panerai released their first wrist watch, which was equipped with Angelus movement, this watch was made at the request of the Italian Navy.

In 1938, Radiomir watch that was produced by Panerai officially became the permanent exclusive product of the Italian Royal Navy.

In 1997, Panerai was acquired by Richemont Group and pushed to international market, under the control of production and unique marketing strategy, Panerai storm immediately swept the whole world. Now, every component of Panerai is completely made by Neuchâtel watch factory in Switzerland. The case and movement of Panerai watches are designed, developed and produced by themselves, from assembly to each aspect of quality control, all the processes are implemented inside the factory.
